A source of pride for Julie is that McCULLOUGH is run as a small-batch business employing women who earn an above-average wage for their work as seamstresses, designers, and cutters. She has worked diligently to create a familial work environment in which it is understood that while it’s wonderful that she and her employees love their work, life comes first. She provides flexible schedules with daily “family lunch” often prepared by Julie herself. And because of the work ethic and family philosophy she has instilled in her environment, she is able to trust that her clothing is not only designed but also constructed with integrity and high-quality craftsmanship. She has also made it a priority to design and produce McCULLOUGH in a modest, energy-efficient studio yielding the least amount of textile and packaging waste and consistently setting sustainable goals for her brand as they work towards a more circular design process, lowering their impact on their environment.
